Creating Your Backyard Water Garden

Water gardening brings a world of wonder and excitement to any backyard. Whether you are a beginning or experienced gardener, you'll find that darting fish, colorful blossoms, and splashing water easily add to the beauty and enjoyment of your home.

In the long run, a simple pond shaped by plants costs less to build and is easier to maintain than a pond with multiple lobes.

* In-ground ponds are good projects for beginning water gardens because their installation generally doesn't require special skills.

* Aboveground pools are ideal for those difficult-to-dig locations in clay, compacted soil, or among tree roots.

* Waterfalls and streams contribute motion and sound to a landscape. the design of a watercourse determines the emotions it elicits exciting or calming, energizing or elicits exciting or calming, energizing or restful.
